More and more municipalities are finding it difficult to fill their municipal authorities - be they municipal executives, municipal legislatures or commissions - with suitable candidates. The role of employers and the influence on the political commitment of employees in militia offices has hardly been studied scientifically so far. For this reason, the "PoliWork" project aims to examine the compatibility of work and political commitment in greater depth and to develop an empirical-evidence-based selection of support measures. The result is an online-based "PoliWork Toolbox" for companies, which is intended to give new impetus to business and civil society in promoting political engagement (www.poliwork.fhgr.ch). The scientific results are published in a study.Der Milizgedanke und die starke Verankerung der politischen Verantwortung in der breiten Bevölkerung sind tragende Elemente des politischen Systems in der Schweiz – besonders in der Gemeindepolitik. Zunehmend mehr Gemeinden haben Mühe, ihre Gemeindebehörden – seien es Gemeindeexekutiven, -legislativen oder Kommissionen – mit geeigneten Kandidierenden zu besetzen. Die Rolle der Arbeitgeber und der Einfluss auf das politische Engagement der Mitarbeitenden in Milizämtern wurde bisher kaum wissenschaftlich untersucht. Deshalb zielt das Projekt «PoliWork» darauf ab, die Vereinbarkeit von Beruf und politischem Engagement vertieft zu untersuchen und eine empirisch-evidenzbasierte Auswahl an Fördermassnahmen zu entwickeln. Als Ergebnis liegt eine online-basierte «PoliWork-Toolbox» für Unternehmen vor, die der Wirtschaft und Zivilgesellschaft neue Impulse in der Förderung des politischen Engagements verleihen sollen (www.poliwork.fhgr.ch). Die wissenschaftlichen Ergebnisse sind in einer Studie publiziert.
