In connection with the reduction of Working Time over the last years, new information on Working Time, extra hours, weekend- and night work is needed. Moreover, current data on labour organisation (fixed-term employment, nursing leave, possibility to choose the date of the holiday, on-call service outside the normal Working Time) serve as an important basis for ongoing public (political) discussions. This survey continues a series of Mikrozensus surveys on labour market and job questions and largely follows the survey on Working Time conducted in September 1987 (Mikrozensus MZ8703).
