In doing so, the political culture of Rhineland-Palatinate can be contrasted in particularly meaningful ways, allowing region-specific issues and attitudinal patterns to be addressed more precisely. The inaugural Rhineland-Palatinate Monitor is aligned with other existing monitors in order to maximize these possibilities for comparison. The representative survey was conducted around four thematic areas: (1) democracy and society, (2) state politics, (3) political participation, and (4) social participation. In total, 67 items were administered to assess attitudes toward democracy, to examine key issues in Rhineland-Palatinate, and to explore societal tensions.Der erste Rheinland-Pfalz-Monitor des Jahres 2023 reiht sich nicht nur in die sukzessive wachsende Reihe der Ländermonitore ein und ermöglicht ein eigenständiges Analyseinstrument für die politische Kultur des Bundeslandes, sondern will auch die Vergleichsmöglichkeiten zwischen den Bundesländern entlang ihrer jeweiligen Monitore erhöhen. Auf diese Weise können die politische Kultur in Rheinland-Pfalz in besonderer Weise kontrastiert und regionalspezifische Problemlagen und Einstellungsmuster gezielter adressiert werden. Der erste Rheinland-Pfalz-Monitor orientiert sich an anderen Monitoren, um diese Vergleichsmöglichkeiten so gut wie möglich zuzulassen. Die repräsentative Umfrage ist entlang der folgenden vier Themenblöcke vorgenommen worden: 1) Demokratie & Gesellschaft, 2) Landespolitik, 3) politische Partizipation und 4) soziale Partizipation.
