Families were located with teenage children in three contrasted areas of a large midland city (a middle class area, a traditional working class area and a council estate).&lt;br&gt;</abstract><abstract xml:lang="en">&lt;B&gt;Main Topics&lt;/B&gt;:&lt;BR&gt;</abstract><abstract xml:lang="en">Variables&lt;br&gt; Socio-economic background of the family, educational career and attitudes, occupational history and occupational choice, political affiliations.&lt;br&gt; Friendship patterns, general leisure activities, involvement in sports/clubs and organisations, self-reported delinquency.&lt;br&gt; General involvement with the mass media, involvement in pop culture (music, dancing, fashion), pop culture preference and antagonisms.&lt;br&gt; Images of social change, perceptions of social problems, images of social class, perceptions of youth and of youth subcultures, subcultural affiliations.</abstract>
