Bruinsma C Djouvas V Manavopoulos F Mendez 2017-03-15 DANS Data Station Social Sciences and Humanities 2019-03-15 Social Sciences <p>The data presented in the accompanying files were collected through the Voting Advice Application (VAA) Stem-Consult, which was designed for the 2017 election for the House of Representatives (Tweede Kamer) in the Netherlands which took place on March 15th, 2017. VAAs are contemporary technological solutions that aim to lower the cost of information that citizens face during elections. They do so primarily by comparing the positions of voters to the positions of candidates or political parties on a set of relevant policy issues and informing voters about how well their preferences match with those of the parties or candidates.
