The code/syntax describes the quantitative analysis presented in the named reference. Using a quantitative survey we explore the experiences of navigating dual careers for a sample of scientists who applied for a European Research Council (ERC) grant. The analysis differentiates between applicants for a Starting Grant (StG) and Advanced Grant (AdG). Main topics of the quantitative description are how many women scientists and men scientists have children and a partner and the employment status of the partner. We provide information how scientists with an employed partner rate the importance of their careers in the partnership and how difficult they find it to pursue two careers. We map characteristics of StG applicants with different dual career experiences. The quantitative description supplements the findings from qualitative interviews on the lived experiences of the scientists.
The code/syntax describes the quantitative analysis presented in the named reference.
