Enlargements and additions are as follows: background information also includes sixth form specialisation of respondent; attitudes and voluntary activities. Occupation is coded more finely here (10 categories instead of 5). There is an added section on reading habits (including newspapers), preference in television viewing and radio habits, and socio-cultural interests and activities, together with a section on the good and bad distinguishing features of Essex.
