The aim was to study the trends, correlates and determinants of social mobility in Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic.<br> The researchers state that they would welcome requests for access to these data.<B>Main Topics</B>:<BR>This dataset obtained rankings of lists from 80 occupations by samples of Irish men and women, the mean rankings to be used at a later stage as a basis for an occupational status scale. Employment status, occupation (respondent, father and spouse). General: job description, place of work, employer, number of persons supervised. Farmers: farm size, type, tenure, number of persons employed, rateable value.
