Streiter 2017-06-01 DANS Data Station Social Sciences and HumanitiesOliver Streiter 2013-09-22 Arts and HumanitiesSocial SciencesGravesites, tombs and tombstones in Taiwan and other areas in Asia and regions where Chinese migrated to <p>ThakBong is a digital archive of gravesites in Taiwan, China and places where Chinese settlers have moved to, e.g. Hong Kong, Hawaii, the US Mainland, France and Italy.</p><p>此研究計畫目標為透過電腦化分析、數據的觀察，來探討台灣人的 文化、自我認同。我們將建立一個以三萬筆台灣墓碑資料為基礎的語料庫，其涵蓋年代跨越許多時期從1800年到2005年。此研究除了針對人類語言學的議題 討論，也跨足許多其他領域，包含電腦語言學、語料庫語言學、數位資料保存以及心理語言學。</p><p>On 1315 graveyard visits, we took 236.000 photos, representing 61.000 tombs. The sampling of graveyards tries to approximate ethnic and regional proportions of the census held 1956 in Taiwan.</p><p>自從人類學成立以來， 墳墓研究即為該領域的一個研究重心，因為它突顯了包含 庶民文化、宗教信仰，及政治組織等多種人類生活的面向。近來，透過數位革命，及由此革命研伸而出的衛星定位科技及和便宜、方便的數位資訊儲存方式，墳墓研 究更是獲得了長足的進步。大規模的數位墳墓資料庫之建立已勢在必行。在台灣，此類研究即在本團隊之數墓計畫得到展現：在過去數年間1315個工作天的實地田 野調查，透過數位相機及衛星定位系統，我們已探訪了將近61.000座墳墓，拍攝了超過236.000張照片，並以此為基礎建立了一個龐大的數位資料庫。 在此資料庫中，我們所註記的內容包括下列各項顯而易見的特徵：墓碑上所刻之文字(如地名及人名)、符號、圖像，及墳墓週邊的物件(如祭品)等等。另外也紀 載其他需經由推斷才能得知的特徵，例如逝者的年齡、性別，及種族等等。最後，我們替這些紀錄下來的特徵建立數種統計模型，進而推算出相對應的數值 關於數墓資料庫之詳細內容。</p><p>This dataset consists of more than 700.000 files with a combined total size of over 700 GB. The large size would make it unpractical to distribute the data directly via EASY.
