The data were collected from a representative sample of adult citizens (over 18 years old) of the Republic of Croatia via multistage stratified simple random sampling. The sample comprised 1083 people and was collected using the F2F method between 10.11 and 23.11. in 2007. The goal was to collect data on citizens' voting behavior and political attitudes before the 2007 parliamentary elections in Croatia (pre-election survey). The survey was conducted as part of the Elections, Parties, and Parliament in Croatia project, funded by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia.

The list was previously stratified according to the size of the settlement. Each selected settlement was represented with one sampling point, except for Zagreb (16 points), Split (4 points), Rijeka (3 points), Osijek (2 points), and Slavonski Brod (2 points). Some settlements, for reasons of practicality or address irregularities, have had their addresses replaced by others with similar economic and urban features.

2. The households were selected from the list of telephone subscribers in the selected settlements using a systematic random sample. In this way, twice as many addresses as respondents were selected for each settlement to create a reserve list of addresses in addition to the main list. It was not possible to get addresses only for three smaller settlements, so the random-walk method of choosing households was applied.

3. The selection of individuals in the selected household was carried out systematically randomly (the respondent whose birthday comes first). In addition, the interviewers were instructed that the sample should not deviate significantly in terms of gender and age structure, but they were not instructed with precise quotas.
<concept/></sampProc>
