      <abstract xml:lang="en">&lt;P&gt;Abstract copyright UK Data Service and data collection copyright owner.&lt;/P&gt;</abstract><abstract xml:lang="en">The purpose of this study was to collect data about the attitudes of pupils, students and teachers to recently proposed changes in the curriculum and to type of teaching establishment preferred.</abstract><abstract xml:lang="en">&lt;B&gt;Main Topics&lt;/B&gt;:&lt;BR&gt;</abstract><abstract xml:lang="en">Attitudinal/Behavioural Questions&lt;br&gt; 1. Pupils' Attitudes to Sixth Form and Colleges of Education (2 questionnaires)&lt;br&gt; Length of attendance at present school, number of terms remaining, post-school intentions, whether alternatives considered before entering sixth form, reasons for and perceived benefits from sixth form study. Number of 'O' and 'A' level passes, subjects taken, amount of advice received from school/parents about suitable subjects for sixth form study, preferred subjects (reasons), reasons for choice of present subjects. Respondents were asked to agree/disagree with various statements about sixth form/college of education policy, suggested changes with order of preference. Attitude to various subject combinations and methods of assessment. Leisure activities.&lt;br&gt; 2. Teachers' Attitudes to Sixth Form (2 questionnaires)&lt;br&gt; Order of preference for various proposed changes in structure of sixth form education, perceived (dis)advantages, attitudes to various subject combinations and methods of assessment. Respondents were asked to agree/disagree with a number of statements about sixth form/college of education policy, suggested changes.&lt;br&gt; Background Variables&lt;br&gt; I. Pupils' Attitudes&lt;br&gt; Age, sex, whether living with parents, use of car/motorcycle, highest level of education attained by parents, voting activities, newspapers read regularly.&lt;br&gt; 2. Teachers' Attitudes&lt;br&gt; Age, sex, position held, number of years in teaching, school years taught, qualifications, subjects taught.</abstract>
