<P>Abstract copyright UK Data Service and data collection copyright owner.</P> The <I>Quarterly Labour Force Survey, January - March 2015: Unrestricted Access Teaching Dataset</I> is based on the <I>Quarterly Labour Force Survey, January - March 2015</I> (available from UK Data Archive under SN 7725) and constitutes real data which are used by government, business and other organisations. The teaching dataset is a subset which has been subjected to certain simplifications and additions for the purpose of learning and teaching. <br> <br> The main differences are: <br> <ul><li>the teaching dataset contains a 30% random sample of the main <I>QLFS</I> sample aged 16 years and over; <br> <li>the number of variables has been reduced; <br> <li>a reduced user guide with codebook is provided; <br> <li>some variables have been recoded and their level of detail reduced for the teaching dataset. </ul> Further information is available in the study documentation (see below).<br> <br> For the second edition (September 2016) a new weighting variable has been added to the data and the user guide has been updated accordingly.<br> <br><B>Main Topics</B>:<BR>The main topics covered are:<ul><li>employment status;<br> <li>economic activity;<br> <li>full/part-time work;<br> <li>hours worked;<br> <li>socio-demographics.</ul>

Cross-sectional (one-time) studyThe <I>QLFS</I> is a repeated cross-sectional study, but this teaching dataset has been compiled using only data from the <i>QLFS JM15</i>.
Simple random sample
Compilation or synthesis of existing materialThe <I>QLFS</I> is collected by face-to-face interviews and telephone interviews, but the teaching dataset has been created by simplifying the original data.
