Using a participatory action research approach, data were collected through a literature review, neighbourhood scans, focus groups, PhotoVoice, interviews, and validation sessions. In total, 97 participants contributed: 29 neighbourhood professionals, 44 women, and 24 girls. Guided by the Movement Friendly Environment model, the analysis showed that both physical and social conditions influence the accessibility and appeal of meeting places. Key conditions included proximity, safety, cleanliness, seating, greenery, and gender-sensitive design. Preferred activities involved cooking, language learning, informal gatherings, and sports, ideally in familiar, culturally sensitive, and child-friendly settings. Barriers included unclear communication, language difficulties, lack of childcare, and feelings of exclusion. Trust, ownership, and emotional safety were essential for engagement.
