Themen: Zeitangaben, Angaben zum Innovator, Angaben zu institutionellen Innovatoren, Geographische Angaben (Ort/Land des Ereignisses), Angaben zur Innovation Systematisierung von Ereignissen, Kennzahlen und Angaben zu Patentens, Sonstige Informationen, Quellenangaben. For the research on the part of the IAB previously publicized information in relevant collective works, monographs, essays in technical journals and daily newspapers were used. For this primarily those innovations were recorded that were considered particularly significant regarding the task of the IAB. Wherever possible the relevant information was recorded in its original text. Here the basic idea was on the one hand to record the source information as completely as possible and on the other hand to undertake a certain structuring in order to make systematic evaluation possible. The events recorded in the database are taken from relevant collections, monographs, special compositions as well as technical journals and daily newspapers. Altogether the database is based on 1307 different sources. The database contains information for the time from before the birth of Christ to 1991. The total extent consists of 14600 events. Almost 2% of these refer to the time before the birth of Christ. From the year zero to 1749 1200 innovations are stored in the database. There are 13115 innovations for the time interval from 1750 to 1991. The events are not evenly distributed over the years. Regarding the time interval from 1750 to 1991 1970 is the year with of the highest event frequency (147 events), while there were only two events in 1757. On average from 1750 to 1991 54 events per year were mentioned (Median = 48).Für die Recherche seitens des IAB wurden bereits publizierte Angaben in einschlägigen Sammelwerken, Monographien, Aufsätzen in Fachzeitschriften und Tageszeitungen herangezogen. Dabei wurden primär jene Neuerungen erfaßt, die hinsichtlich der Aufgaben des IAB als besonders bedeutsam eingestuft wurden. Die einschlägigen Informationen wurden möglichst im Originaltext aufgenommen. Grundidee dabei war, einerseits die Quelleninformationen möglichst vollständig zu erfassen und andererseits eine gewisse Strukturierung vorzunehmen, um dadurch die systematische Auswertung zu ermöglichen. Die in der Datenbank erfaßten Ereignisse sind einschlägigen Sammelwerken, Monographien, Spezialaufsätzen sowie Fach- und Tageszeitungen entnommen. Insgesamt basiert die Datenbank auf 1307 verschiedenen Quellen. Die Datenbank beinhaltet Angaben für die Zeit vor Christi Geburt bis 1991. Der Gesamtumfang liegt bei 14.600 Ereignissen. Knapp 2% davon beziehen sich auf die Zeit vor Christi Geburt. Vom Jahre Null bis 1749 sind 1200 Innovationen in der Datenbank gespeichert. Für den Zeitraum von 1750 bis 1991 sind 13.115 Innovationen nachgewiesen. Die Ereignisse sind nicht gleichmäßig über die Jahre verteilt. Bezogen auf den Zeitraum von 1750 bis 1991 ist das Jahr mit der höchsten Ereignishäufigkeit 1970 (147 Ereignisse) während es 1757 nur zwei Ereignisse gibt. Im Mittel werden von 1750-1991 54 Ereignisse pro Jahr genannt (Median = 48).
