These are both nationally representative household surveys. In 2012, questions about gambling were included for those aged 16 and over in each study for the first time. The same questions about past year gambling behaviour and screening instruments to identify problem gamblers were used in both studies. To boost sample sizes for analysis, the data have been combined and reweighted to be reflective of the general population living in England and Scotland.
