The sample comprised 1153 people and was collected using the F2F method between 12.11 and 21.11. in 2003. The goal was to collect data on citizens' voting behavior and political attitudes before the 2003 parliamentary elections in Croatia (pre-election survey). The survey was conducted as part of the Elections, Parties, and Parliament in Croatia project, funded by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia. 2003-11-122003-12-21 Croatia Individual Individuals older than 18 years. Numeric Cross-section <p>Probability: stratified: proportional</p> <p>Sampling was multi-stage, combining stratification, systematic random, and quota sampling. The procedure was as follows:</p> <p>1.14 regions were defined to create the optimal number of homogeneous units (by county borders, merging up to three counties). The merging criteria were the regional division of Croatia (closeness of counties) and the similarity of election results for county assemblies in 2001. A total of 87 survey localities were determined in the regions thus defined.</p> <p>2. The number of respondents per locality is determined by the proportion of the adult population of the regions in the total adult population of Croatia and the proportional share of the rural and urban population within each region. A subsequent check established that the number of respondents distributed in this way represented the constituencies very well (because the number of respondents per constituency ranged between 107 and 134).</p> <p>3. The selection of individuals in the selected locality was carried out using the random walk method, within which a household was systematically randomly selected. In 15 more prominent cities, the starting point was determined in advance, and in other localities, the interviewer determined the point according to the instructions. After selecting households, a respondent was randomly selected within each household. A combined male-female and age quota corrected this way of selecting individuals, so each interviewer was instructed that the sample must correspond to predetermined quotas.</p> Face-to-face interview Structured questionnaire Henjak, A.
