The series was formerly known as Industrial Stoppages Data and was the responsibility of the Employment Department. The title changed to Labour Disputes in the UK in 1992 and the Office for National Statistics took over responsibility when the Employment Department was abolished in 1995.Main Topics: The data base presents information on all recorded stoppages for each year from 1974 to 1980. The information covers region, county (from 1975), industry, public sector (all coded) and MLH, number of workers involved (both directly and indirectly, manual and non-manual), working days lost in the current and following years, total number employed at the stoppage establishment (if known).
